Wessex Taekwondo Association

Students aged 9-99 are warmly welcomed into WTF (traditional) Taekwondo...

Our WTF Taekwondo program is the style of Taekwondo we teach which develops concentration, speed, power, strength, accuracy, balance and coordination. In its purest form, the essence of training is “Mind over Body” seeking deeper than just acquiring physical strength and skills. This program strives to improve the individual through self-discipline, self-control, self-confidence, patience, humility, respect, and perseverance. At the same time, it is an excellent way to stay in condition since practicing utilizes every single muscle in the body.

Here at Wessex Taekwondo Association, we teach “Traditional Taekwondo’ utilizing modern teaching methods and strategies”. What this means is that while we focus on developing the concepts of mutual respect, courtesy, integrity and self-control, we do not ignore developments in modern physical and “practical” training, expanding our Martial Arts knowledge in general.

This Program is for everyone as no matter what your level of fitness, your age or experience you are able to work at your own pace in a friendly but dedicated environment. We believe that Taekwondo can give you everything we have mentioned above and more so give us a call and start your journey to becoming a Black Belt in Taekwondo.

My son has been with Master Harrison for over two years. James is now a black belt at the age of 13. Taekwondo has helped him with staying focused in school. Over this time Master Harrison has pushed James to always do his best in class and school. He has also helped our son with kids that would bully him. Master Harrison does not promote fighting but self defence and the sport of Teakwondo. I would truly recommended all children and adults to come and be apart of a wonderful dojo. All the staff are friendly and helpful. Anna

Grading

Like many martial arts, Taekwondo uses a coloured belt grading system and this does not alter in our Little Leaders Program. The grading for the Little Leaders consists of testing the student,s knowledge and grasp of the themes that they have been taught through the current quarter. It is designed to make the child feel great achievement, and parents will be amazed at just what their Children can achieve!

New students begin at white belt and advance through to their Little Leaders Black Belt.

When the child has taken part in the curriculum they are entered for their next belt, where they follow basic instructions... It's fun and gives the children the foundation to...
